Guests to Revolutionary War Weekend will have many hands-on opportunities to experience the culture and lifeways of wartime New Bern in the 18th century. Explore the life of the Revolutionary War soldier at an encampment, learn about civilian medicine, and hear fascinating stories about the roles native New Bernians played during the American Revolution.
Tryon Palace’s own First North Carolina Regiment of the Continental Line will demonstrate black powder firing on the South Lawn. Children can sign up to join the Continental Line and participate in “musket” drills on the front lawn throughout the weekend.
